Our United States March is representative of a march at the highest degree of difficulty. Every section of the band is given a part that is challenging both technically and musically. Scored in the keys Ab and Db major, the march requires great technique in the trumpet fanfares, woodwind obligatos, and the low brass break strain. A great musical vehicle, this march features brass pyramids, accented off beats in the break strain, and the final phrase demands a high Eb from the Solo Cornet players. It is a truly great march. |
